Frequently asked questions.
Direct answers about the current Patrol game and what comes later.
What can I actually do in the current version?
Create one police candidate, complete a condensed recruit path, work department-assigned day, evening, or night watches, choose pre-shift and off-duty routines, handle district calls, file incident-linked paperwork, manage overtime and backlog, earn duty pay, sleep, and build toward promotion.
What is the correct order for starting a career?
Submit the officer application, complete Candidate Screening, finish three Police Academy evaluations, pass the Field Training evaluation, then plan your first patrol watch. The Current Task link always returns you to the next unfinished step.
Can I change a training answer after submitting it?
No. A submitted evaluation becomes part of that career’s permanent recruit record. Later stages unlock in order, so review each answer before confirming it.
What do I choose before a watch?
You build the morning and choose a meal plan. The department assigns the watch, district, and duty. A marked unit carries standard gear, and roll call adds any equipment required for a special detail.
What is an “on-scene step”?
It is one investigative, communication, safety, or coordination action taken during a call. You may complete several different steps, but each only once. Steps use limited time and may reveal facts or change scene conditions.
What is a disposition?
The disposition is the one final outcome that closes the scene, such as assistance, separation, warning, citation, arrest, referral, or another call-specific resolution. Dutybound enables it only when the required facts have been established.
Can every call end in an arrest?
No. Arrest is available only on calls whose established facts support it. Some incidents properly end with medical assistance, documentation, referral, separation, a warning, or no enforcement action.
Does Dutybound teach real police procedure or law?
No. Greybridge and its agencies are fictional. The game uses broad ideas such as observation, proportional authority, de-escalation, evidence, and accurate reporting, but it is entertainment—not legal advice or professional training.
Where are FBI, SWAT, military, and other jobs?
They are planned as future career expansions. The current playable foundation is Police Patrol only. Each additional career will be built as a complete progression instead of appearing as an unfinished menu option.
How does saving work?
Confirmed actions save to your account on the server. Active watches and calls can be resumed. Account controls include password recovery, session management, data export, and account deletion.
